Fact Sheet: FY 2010 Revenue Numbers Prompt Fifth Round of Budget Cuts
Updated revenue estimates for FY 2010 ending June 30, 2010 now project a total deficit of $499.1 million in state funds for the year. In response to the updated revenue projections, Governor Barbour announced a fifth round of budget cuts totaling $40.6 million. Most agencies are now facing almost 9.5% in cuts to their current year budget. Due to these cuts a number of state agencies are planning furloughs.
